Dwarka Darshan Timings
The temple doors open for devotees at 630AM. If you reach there before time, you will see a long queue of devotees. Instead of standing in queue, keep on moving ahead towards Gomti river and take a dip in the fresh or salty water.
Yes, the river meets sea and the water is salty at that end where as its fresh at the other end.
Once you reach inside the temple primise, you will have to wait in queue for the darshan from near. In case you are fine with darshan from far, during aarti you will get a good view if you are tall!
After aarti, during bhog a curtain is pulled and the darshan queue stops. And this happenes many time, so if you think to join queue once its over, that situation may not come as the queue forms every time curtain is raised.
The morning darshan is allowed tilll 1pm only. If you miss it, you will have to visit at 5pm for 5-930pm slot.

Where to keep luggage in Dwarka Temple?
No baga are allowed in the temple. Before the entrance, there is a booth where you need to depoist your luggage, mobile, shoes. Its a free service but people do expect some tip (not mandatory).
Dwarka darshan bus
Once you are done with darshan, just outside the temple you will find many private tour operators who offer Dwarka darshan bus service.
Previously there use to be government bus as well, but the service stopped due to low usage.
There are many service providers, I got the ticket from near the temple. It was 2pm bus and returned by 8pm.
The bus stops at each attraction for enough time for people to visit the place and come back.Few may find the time less but thats the trade off in shared bus trip!
The places include:
- Shri Nageshwar Jyotriling
- Gopi Talab
- Bet Dwarka (now the bridge is in place, so no need to use boat)
- Rukmini temple.
Food in Dwarka
You can enjoy food prasad at Dwarka trust for Rs.30/- only. Its a full meal along with sweet and is a must have.
You will see the board for this facility at temple itself. Its a seperate facility, connected by stairs to Temple.
There are many restaurants as well around temple.
Conclusion:
Dwarka Temple and sightseeing can be done in one day. The bus service is good, make sure to book early to avoid getting last seat in the bus!
