Beaches In Mumbai
Mumbai is an island city. It is surrounded by Arabian sea and has a big coast line. In this post I have listed beaches of Mumbai and its surrounding areas.
I have added the surrounding area beach in this list as Mumbaikar’s frequent these beaches and reaching there is very easy.
List of beaches in Mumbai
1.Girgaum Beach:
Everyone who visits Mumbai, comes to this beach. Its vicinity to the toursit places like Marine Drive, ISKCON temple adds to the number of people visiting this beach.
One other reason for popularity of this beach is its within walkable distance from Charni Road local train station.
2.Juhu Beach:
Juhu chaupati definetly is among the most visited beaches of Mumbai. Many Bollywood stars have house near Juhu beach and there are many big hotels at the shore.
3.Dadar Beach:
This is a small beach, mostly frequented by couples. You can get down at Dadar station and go towards West. You can walk (20min walk) or take a taxi.
4.Versova Beach
You can get into Versova metro and reach this beach/
5.Marve Beach
Get down at Malad and you will get a bus from Malad West to Marve beach.
6.Gorai Beach
You can reach here either from Borivali or Bhayander. In both the case, go towards West and get a bus. From Borivali you will also have to get a ferry to reach the beach.
7.Uttan Beach
This beachi located in Bhayander W, you can easily get a bus or auto till this beach. This is a rocky beach and people drink openely here.
8.Suruchi Beach
This beach is in Vasai, you can get a bus from Vasai W railway station.
9.Arnala Beach
You can get a bus right from outside of Virar West railway station.
10.Kalamb Beach
This beach is located at Nalasopara West, bus connectivity is good here.
11.Kelve Beach
This one is bit outskirts of Mumbai. Get a Dahanu bound local and from Kelve road station, get an auto to the beach. It will cost your around Rs.45-50/- each side.
12. Madh Island Beach
This is located in Malad west, you can get a bus from Malad W till Madh. To actually reach the island, you will have to take a short ferry ride as well.
13. Manori Beach
This is located in Malad west, you can get a bus from Malad W.
14.Dana Pani Beach
This beach is also near Madh island.
15.Erangal Beach
You can reach here from Malad West.
16.Velankani Beach
You can visit this beach from Bhayander W
17.Pali Beach
Another beach in Bhayander W
18.Bhayander Khadi
This is more like a sea facing area but I like it very much due to its calmness

32. Alibaug:
This is a favourite weekend beach for Mumbaikars. It is near Mumbai and got great vibes. Do read details on Alibaug
33.Mandwa beach
This beach is near Alibaug.The route is same, just get down at Mandwa jetty and take an auto to Mandwa beach.
34.Nagaon Beach
This beach is near Uran. You can reach uran from Bhau cha dhakka (Dockyard road) and get a ferry to this place. You can also go by road but its a long ride.

Are Mumbai beaches good?
Mumbai is a croweded city and it shows on its beaches. Its not the cleanest or best of the beaches but it’s sunset does the magic for Mumbaikar’s.
Conclusion:
The beaches in Mumbai city is decent, few beaches in the surrounding area are really good. Some of the beaches has become very commercial and few still manage to preserve its soothing effect.
